Today’s Freebie Friday can be considered an additional supplemental activity to last week’s CVC2 Word Family Reading Strips.  So if you missed the freebie last Friday, just click the link above. This week we are targeting Silent E word families.  Word families are a simple way to encourage decoding skills as well as rhyming.  All you need to do is print out the freebie (I’d recommend on card stock or be sure to laminate for durability), cut out the squares in each word family strip, and use the initial sound strip (found on the right hand side of each page) to change the initial sound in each strip.  Check out the pictures at the bottom of this blog!
